I wish I would have had this book when my kids were born. I am sixty-fours years old and cried while reading this sweet beautiful book of poetry. I gave it to my grandchildren who have read this book over and over. I remember when my daughter was born I used white paper plates glued to popsicle sticks and made designs on them with a black marker. I would show them to my young daughter and watch her focus on the black and white designs. She is a young adult now and very focused and intelligent. The black and white illustrations are clever and eye catching. The poems capture all the joy and wonder of experiencing the world through the eyes of a new baby. A wonderful gift of poetry for any new parent or grandparent. Really hits the bond and feelings between a new mom and her baby. I am buying this book for all of the new parents I know. Colleen Reding Mearn you did an excellent job.

I really enjoyed reading this book to my daughter as a first time mom. I’m in the thick of PPD and this book struck a cord for me. The words are relatable and reminded me of all the highs and lows I went through for a tiny human. The letter ‘A’ resonates with me the most as I felt like I lost myself but really I have just evolved into a better version of myself. Great book to read with kids! We have a 3 year old and are expecting a new baby in April. The 3 year old enjoyed it but it is geared towards newborns. This is a delightful book filled with all the feels. “A” really hits you with some deep emotions and the rest of the book jumps around between light laughter, melancholy, and some deep truths of parenthood. Would recommend as a fun gift which is outside the box of normal children’s books.

My six month old made it to letter M without getting squirmy. Love the clean, black and white format. I really resonated with the poems as a new, first time mom. It’s an equally enjoyable book for my little guy and me.

Such a sweet read! A poem for every letter (perfect for reading to little one, or just to myself!) and high contrast black-and-white illustrations of each letter, which keeps her interest when we read together. My favorite poem is the one for H, Heart 😭 Nice for new parents!

disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I read it and it was cute. My almost 2-year-old nephew is still a little young for it but I will share it with him once he is a little older.

This was a good reads win. I loved the poems but thought the pictures could of been better. Amber more color.

My one big issue with this book is the type of paper it's printed on. I was hoping it would be a bit sturdier so that I don't have to worry too much about accidental rips and stains My one big issue with this book is the type of paper it's printed on.
