Porcelain #3

Availability: Ready to download

With her new ally, Axel, by her side, Beryl ventures deeper into the nightmarish Dollhouse. As they travel along, they are faced with sad realities and horrors that neither are fully prepared to encounter. Things may seem hopeless and the descend further and further, but at least they have each other.

This issue is too short, but gives us our first look at the Thanatos path. As the personification of death, the path proves to be aptly named. The lovely art continues to provide a sensation of movement and claustrophobia, and adds symbolism to what the panels show - the shattered glass/mirrors, black cats, black heart, death. So many things evocative of luck or bad luck, and suffering. The issue does end before it seems to get going and runs into yet another garishly loud comic preview.

The art style again further the whimsical and psychedelic nature of the story very well. I will say that this definitely felt like a filler issue without much plot. I just hope that this next issue will have more substance than what we got in this issue.
