LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. This book is incredible, especially because I too am a rural girl - not as much as this, but it still has a few factors that I live with too. I love how they have the 'sleepover' at the creek I was just thinking in my head 'AHHH!!' And then 'wow.' when Nate's grandfather slapped her :O VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY GOOD BOOK. And it won't take you AGES to read, this is like a casual one weekened which is good if you're busy with school, etc and you want some good quality chick flick LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Last year I read Scot Gardner's The Dead I Know and it completely blew me away. This is the fourth book I have read by Gardner in under a year and each has impressed me. But there was something very different about this one. When I bought it I did not know it was part of a series called Girlfriend Fiction. And if I had known that I might not have purchased it. When I bought it I did not know it was part of a series called Girlfriend Fiction. And if I had known that I might not have purchased it. But that would have been my loss. The story has an amazing premise and is wonderfully written. Avril Stanton lives in the outback of Australia. Her family farms and has sheep. They also have a blood feud with the neighbors the Carrignton's. But Avil sees her live as a book, some days are bookmark days, days you will remember forever. And other days are days with dog-eared pages. That concept immediately struck a chord with me. The story is part Romeo and Juliette it is also a teen coming of age story. It is also the story about family and learning to do what is right even if it is not popular. This was an amazing read. With every book I read by Scot Gardner I become more impressed with his skill. This book completely different than anything else I have read shows an amazing range of skill. This is a book I can highly recommend! Read the review and with links to other reviews of books by the author on my blog Book Reviews and More. And also an author profile and interview with Scot Gardner.

Quick easy read that reminded me why I loved girlfriend fiction books in the past. Enter Nathaniel Carrington and Avril begins to fall for him, even though their families are sworn enemies. I fell in love with the romance that Avril and Nathaniel. The plot line made it seem like a Romeo and Juliet type of love, but I didn't see it that way. I was rooting for things to work out for these two and hopping that we'd see an end to the fued. I enjoyed getting to know Avril and felt everything she felt along with her, especially her fustrations with Katie. 4 stars because this was a great story and I grew to like all the characters in the end.

After reading Scot Gardner's 'The Dead I Know', I was curious to see what he could do with this commissioned chick-lit. Unfortunately, though his writing is still as concise and emotive as ever, the story is a little holey, to say the least. I don't believe it is the fault of the author either- the back page says that Girlfriend magazine readers suggest story ideas, and I have a feeling this was one of them. There were some positives, however: the characterisation of the main character and her love interest were darling, but the entire thread with her cousin was painful to read. Sometimes it felt like it was put in haphazardly at the eleventh hour, so futile was its development. Tweens need only apply.

This book is not what I expected it to be. I never thought that a man could accurately write a book about the thoughts and feelings of a teenage girl but he did amazingly well. Gardner has obviously had help from somebody along the way because no man could ever be that exact on a girls feelings. The way it was written was like it was a diary by a girl confused by her feelings towards the boy next door. Good Job Scot Gardner :) :)

I really liked this book. I love Nathaniel he just sounds so hawt. And Katie at first I thought she was a liar, bitch and a slut but at the end of the book I liked her. Avril is such a good girl, really pretty. I love the love story between Nathaniel and her. I wish there was more on them. But the whole book is based around the epic feud between Carringtons and Stanton & I have to admit the feud was STUPID as. Overall a fantastic book to read!

Absolutely LOVED this book! Yes this is yet another Girlfriend Fiction book which I've read for the second time but honestly I had to read it again! Bookmark Days left me with crazy emotions, including that little fuzzy feeling inside, even 5 years later. It was cute, humorous and overall amazing! I would highly recommend this to all the adolescence out there! :) Absolutely LOVED this book! This was a nice book; based in the country, a nice country lifestyle. It is great in the fact that it could relate to any teenage girls life, like any other girlfriend fiction book. I found this book addictive and un-put-downable.

I love rereading this book every year, however, this time I had a small issue with one of the things that was said. But I have loved this book for so long now that the nostalgia definitely determined my rating on this one.
