It has all the classics with the original cartoons. It reminds me of when I used to watch Disney channel at home.

I am conflicted about putting this collection in my classroom. On the one hand, the art is unmistakably beautiful and iconic. Disney is a huge part of American illustration and history. Speaking of history, the juxtaposition of Disney fantasy and WWII pleas for war bonds is an interesting springboard for talking about that era. Oh, and not to mention that these comics may engage some of my reluctant readers if they see a familiar story represented in text. Oh, and not to mention that these comics may engage some of my reluctant readers if they see a familiar story represented in text. On the other hand, these comics are an embarrassment, with their racist and sexist caricatures acting as accents for the adventures of white men. Especially Peter Pan. In the 21st Century, especially in the midst of the political shitstorm that is the 2016 presidential election, it is important to recognize whose story is being raised up on the backs of reductive representations of race, gender, or any other difference. Can I trust my students to recognize power and exploitation, even in something as nostalgic as Disney? I suppose if I want my students to think critically about their world, then I must challenge them with biased text, images, and iconography. My idol Linda Christensen handled such conversations with characteristic grace, and I suppose I should strive to do the same. It just makes me so nervous.

Amazing collection of Disney comic books from the 1940s and 50s. Dumbo, Bambi, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan transported me back to the original Disney animated features. I had almost forgotten how tragic Bambi is, how violent Snow White is, and how disturbing Dumbo is.

I really enjoyed reading these comics. I have seen the films but it was very cool to see a story that we are all familiar with in its original comic book form. A must read for Disney fans. Contains Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Bambi, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter Pan.

i could have just watched the movies. The only interesting one was snow white because it went a little more in depth about the queen, snow, and prince charming. I also liked the art work on the bambi comic but other than that not worth the effort to read.

3 1/2 stars Like many of the original comics, this collection is heavy on the artwork and thin on the script. Interesting read for Disney fans.
