   Hard to read at first. Lots of vernacular, superstition, and over-emotionalism. Once the boys started their adventure, it picked up a lot.    I don't think I ever read this as a child. I enjoyed reading it as an adult. As Mark Twain says, this is his reminder to adults of what childhood is like. It was a good read.
