This is one of my favorite books! I love this story, it goes way back. I could use this book in class to incorporate asian culture in a fun way.

I have been teaching the girls, the story of Mulan; we have been reading different versions of the story. After the girls had seen the Disney movie, I was lucky enough to get this book, from our public library! Victoria and Lexi loved being able to see the movie in their heads, while I read the book, to them! In fact, Lexi is turning into such a good reader, she was able to read large parts of it, out loud to us! This book was ok but it could have been better. I liked that it told the entire story so fans of Mulan will definitely enjoy that but it was more of a detailed summary of the events that happened. There wasn't much dialogue which left out a lot of the humor from the movie. The pictures were great though and taken right from the movie. It was a quick read and I'm sure Disney fans and fans of Mulan will enjoy this book. This book was ok but it could have been better. Filled with beautiful illustrations, this book is based on the well known disney adaptation of Mulan; the girl who dressed as a man to stop her father from going to war, and by doing so, gained the highest level of honour and repeat for her family and herself from the whole of China.
