This is one of my favourite Dickens and such a good read at Christmas. It has all of Charles Dickens great imagination and description without being too descriptive (looking at you Hard Times).

The charles Dickens classic " A christmas Carol" speaks the story of a rich miser named Ebenzer Scrooge, not a pleasant name among neighbours or relatives. He lives a lonely life which is miserable to others but he is yet to see it. To let scrooge know the true spirit of christmas and what he is missing out, he gets visited by spirits. Since Christmas is almost upon us I felt it was necessary to listen to such a classic for the festivities and it was absolutely amazing! Because I don't own it and I was busy today I put in an audiobook that was beautifully read in a very good and pleasant voice. I already knew this classic from movies but the book is definitely ten times better. I loved it! I absolutely loved it! It reminds us what Christmas is all about and I truly felt it. I think I will make this my new tradition from now on π Also, Charles Dickens is a fantastic writer and he did this book so well, my gosh! All the very detailed sceneries and the great dialogue of the characters was perfectπ I know that he used to read it to the public close to Christmas time and that it was a great performance. π₯°π I can say now why this is such a beloved classic β€οΈ

A great short read by a master storyteller, this well-known Christmas classic is like a sip of clear, cold water. Dickens paints every character so well with just the right amount of brush strokes. He chills the reader with his description of spirits who have come to haunt the parsimonious protagonist. His depiction of Tiny Tim did not stir as much emotion in me as some characters in his other novels do, but Tiny Tim does serve a purpose. One of my favorite books of all time, the beautiful language weaves intricate word pictures of the past. Keep a dictionary handy, to inspire your vocabulary acquisition. If only all of could have the benefit of reflecting upon our lives, mustering the courage to change for the better and then acting on our newfound wisdom, the world would be such a better place. Maybe we should all just read the book!

Was never a huge Dickens fan. Read it because I'm tutoring a 7th grade student & it's assigned reading. Was never a huge Dickens fan. Read it because I'm tutoring a 7th grade student & it's assigned reading.
